Associate Governor 

Hello, my name is Emma and I was appointed onto the Governing Board of Hovingham Primary in December 2023.

I am Lancashire born but I have now lived in Leeds for 25 years.
Since qualifying as an Early Years Practitioner in 1989, I worked in various Early Years settings for 8 years. I have now worked at Leeds City College for 27 years where I am currently the Head of Department for Education and Early Years.

I am lucky to go into school every Friday with Jeffrey (the college wellbeing dog) to spend time in a breakfast group and visit classes with the Hovingham Champions.

The school has such a great supportive atmosphere and I find it is so rewarding to see the children succeed, make the right choices
and gain positive comments. My weekends are spent walking Jeffrey, gardening, craftingand visiting family.
